A delegation from the Club met top officials of Dewan Bandaraya of Kuala Lumpur (DBKL) on 2 December 2011 to discuss, amongst others issues pertaining to the transfer of title of the Bukit Kiara Annexe (now registered under the name of Datuk Bandar) and the lease at Dataran which expires in 2026 (or 14 years’ time). RSC was led by the President, Ronnie Quay,GC member for Management, Rules and Communications, Dr Pola Singh and the General Manager, Moganaraj.

Despite his heavy schedule, City Mayor, Tan Sri Ahmad Fuad Ismail, chaired the meeting and spent almost two hours with the RSC delegation. The talks were frank and open and held in a cordial atmosphere. Tan Sri Fuad accepted our invitation to visit the Club in the near future. Members will be informed of the final outcome of the discussions in due course.

125th Anniversary Celebration

The 20th December is a landmark date in the history of the Royal Selangor Club as it was on this exact day in 1970 that the Club was burned to the ground and from the ashes of which the Club as we know it today has evolved.

Having been founded in 1884, the Club celebrates the 125th anniversary of its establishment as well as the 25th anniversary of its Royal Patronage, which was bestowed on the Club by the Sultan of Selangor, father of the present day's revered Patron. ..Read>>
